Responsibilities
- Offer expert tax compliance and planning services to a diverse range of clients including corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Manage and meticulously review tax files and engagements.
- Conduct in-depth research on tax issues and adeptly prepare internal and external memorandums.
- Act as the liaison with tax authorities during audits and appeals.
- Lead complex engagements, nurturing high-value business relationships, providing top-tier tax advice, and seeking opportunities to expand client services.
- Identify client issues, assess risk tolerance, and deliver appropriate firm services.
- Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of clients' industries, business trends, technical developments, and effectively communicate these insights to clients.
- Skillfully identify and resolve tax issues, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Successfully delegate tasks to staff at all levels.
- Provide guidance and foster the career development of staff members within the firm.
- Actively participate in mentoring and nurturing junior-level staff.
- Flexibility to complete additional ad-hoc assignments as required.
Competencies
- Canadian Professional Accounting (CPA) designation
- Preferably 4-5 years' experience in tax advisory, though all experienced individuals are encouraged to apply.
- Enrolled in, or open to enrolling in, the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course.
- Proficiency in CaseWare, Microsoft Office, and Tax Prep software.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, managers, and partners.
- Proven ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Values teamwork, client/customer service, professionalism, quality in detailed work, community involvement, personal, and professional growth.
